A tourism innovation challenge in The Bahamas has recognized businesses working on marine protection, community experiences and greener operations.
The Out Island Water Company Recycling Program was named overall winner. Bluequest Bahamas received recognition in marine conservation, while Access Island Guide won the local and community tourism category.
Organized with UN Tourism, the initiative provided mentoring to six finalists, alongside seed capital and access to further learning opportunities. Its focus is on locally developed solutions to challenges facing island destinations. The programme also seeks to encourage wider Caribbean cooperation and strengthen connections between entrepreneurs, investors and tourism institutions.
