NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 mission launched from Florida on October 1, carrying four crew members toward the International Space Station.
Jessica Watkins, Luke Delaney, Joshua Kutryk and Sergey Teteryatnikov lifted off aboard a Dragon spacecraft on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral’s Space Launch Complex 40. Launch took place at 11:10 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time.
The mission’s planned work includes research involving stem-cell tissue, plants, autonomous systems and health diagnostics. Crew rotations support continued operations and research aboard the orbital laboratory. The launch marks the beginning of the journey and does not, by itself, confirm completion of docking or the planned experiments.
